Sports clubs and community groups in Brockworth are being invited to apply for funding to help improve local sports and fitness facilities.

As new homes have been built in the area, developers have contributed money to Tewkesbury Borough Council. This funding will be invested back into projects that enhance sports and physical activity opportunities for residents.

Community groups are being encouraged to submit an expression of interest for projects that provide lasting benefits for the local community.

A total of £54,788 is available to support the refurbishment and improvement of sports and fitness facilities within the locality, subject to agreement with Tewkesbury Borough Council.

The deadline for expressions of interest is Friday, 27 November.

Councillor Debbie Harwood, Lead Member for Community Development and Engagement, said: “This funding is an excellent opportunity to invest in facilities that help people lead active and healthy lives. By directing developer contributions back into the local community, we can support projects that enhance sports and fitness provision for residents of all ages.

“We would encourage local organisations to come forward with proposals that demonstrate clear community benefits and will make a lasting difference for local people, both now and in the future.”

To find out more or submit an expression of interest, visit the council’s website or contact a Community and Place Development Officer on 01684 272268.
