Housing Payments
Changes to Discretionary Housing Payments (DHPs) from April 2026
The Government is introducing a new national scheme called the Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) from 1 April 2026. This new fund replaces both Discretionary Housing Payments (DHPs) and the Household Support Fund.
Because of this change, DHPs will end nationally on 31 March 2026. After this date, councils will no longer be able to award support under the DHP regulations.
