Tewkesbury Borough’s attractions have risen to the occasion and curated a weekend designed to celebrate mothers and wow families across the borough.

The royal treatment at Sudeley Castle and Gardens

Sudeley Castle’s visitor season resumes on Saturday, 14 March, when the castle and gardens reopen for daytime exploration. The historic site in Winchcombe is celebrating Mother’s Day weekend by inviting mums to enjoy a blossom-filled stroll through the award-winning gardens, which will be alive with magnolia, early tulips and drifts of daffodils. You can also hear an inspiring talk about Queen Katherine Parr, in the Chapel.

On Mothering Sunday, all mums visiting the Shepherd’s Hut Tea Room will receive a complimentary cupcake as well as a posy of daffodils to take home.

Nostalgic adventures with Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Steam Railway

For a journey through time, the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway (GWSR) offers a scenic escape through the heart of the Cotswolds. Departing from Toddington or Winchcombe, families board restored carriages for a round-trip to Cheltenham Racecourse or Broadway. This is a wonderful relaxing experience, allowing visitors to sit back and watch the spring landscape unfold through the carriage window.
