Tewkesbury Borough Business Voice announces cyber security themed networking breakfast
Tewkesbury Borough Business Voice is inviting businesses from across the borough to its next networking event, a free business breakfast designed to connect, inform and strengthen the local business community.
The business voice networking event will take place on Tuesday, 24 March from 7.30am to 9.30am, hosted at The Longhorn Bar & Grill, Teddington Hands Roundabout, Tewkesbury, GL20 8NE.
This month’s event will shine a spotlight on one of the most pressing issues facing businesses today: cyber security.
Attendees will hear from guest speakers Emily Price (Business Manager) and Ewan Elliot (Cyber Exercising Consultant) from GDAK, a Tewkesbury Borough-based specialist in cyber exercising and incident preparedness. Emily and Ewan will share GDAK’s own business journey before offering practical, easy-to-implement steps that organisations of all sizes can use to strengthen their cyber resilience.
Emily said: “For most businesses now it’s a case of when, not if, they are the victim of a cyber incident – being prepared is the only way to truly fend off threats and minimise any breaches.
“It’s not as scary as it sounds; lots of the things businesses need to do are simple and affordable. We’ll share some tips on the day and will be happy to answer specific questions.”
Alongside the presentation, attendees will enjoy a complimentary breakfast featuring bacon and sausage baps, cinnamon buns, and hot drinks. Emily and Ewan will also host a mini cyber clinic after the talk, giving guests the opportunity to ask questions and receive tailored advice.
The event will also include updates on local and regional initiatives, followed by dedicated networking time to help businesses connect, collaborate, and explore new opportunities.
Councillor Richard Stanley, Leader of Tewkesbury Borough Council and Lead Member for Economic Development, said “Supporting the strength, growth, and resilience of our local businesses is one of our top priorities. Our Business Voice events provide the perfect environment for organisations to learn from each other, build valuable connections, and gain practical insights they can apply straight away.
“Cyber security affects every sector, so we’re pleased to be offering timely, expert guidance to help keep our local businesses safe and thriving.”
The event is open to businesses of all sectors and sizes across Tewkesbury Borough, and local partners and stakeholders looking to strengthen ties with the business community are encouraged to attend.
This event is free to attend – book your place via Eventbrite. Booking early is encouraged due to high demand.
