As our planning systems return safely and securely, the first priority of planning officers and support staff will be to address the immediate backlog with urgent matters, team mailboxes and the Planning Portal, including land searches.
We will endeavour to reply to enquiries as soon as possible but there may be some delay in communications from the team while we return to a normal service.

We have an existing backlog of applications to attend as well as new planning applications both made to the Planning Portal as well as those received during the cyber incident. We anticipate a substantial number of new applications to be received in the coming weeks as agents and applicants who chose not to submit during the outage make submissions.
Our planners and support staff’s first priority will be addressing the immediate backlog in our administrative processes. We will endeavour to reply to enquiries as soon as possible but there may be some delay in communications from the team while we return to a normal service.
Submit your application through the planning portal but please be aware that there will be a delay to processing your application at this time.
At this stage we are unable to issue any planning decisions, your application will remain on our system until further notice.

Comments can be made as usual using the Public Access portal.
We currently have a phone line set up for urgent queries. In the Planning service this covers serious planning breaches in respect of the following:
- Breaches that pose an immediate risk to public safety;
- Unauthorised works to protected trees; and
- Unauthorised works/ demolition to listed buildings.
