Previously, we had in place an internal High Performing Organisation programme. This prioritised enhancing our use of data, creating a culture that is performance focussed and putting user experience at the centre of our service design. While we still aim to be high performing, the context in which we operate has shifted significantly.

With the announcement of Local Government Reorganisation (LGR), our focus must now adapt to ensure we are well prepared for the changes ahead. As a result, our original High Performing Organisation programme has been replaced with a new LGR transition programme – ‘Future Ready’. This new approach will:

• Focusing on the delivery to become a unitary authority, ensuring business continuity and service stability is met throughout the transition.
• Supporting and developing our workforce, through clear communication, engagement and promoting continuous learning opportunities.
• Preparing our systems, process and governance arrangements to enable a smooth transition into any future arrangements


This shift reflects our commitment to remaining flexible and focussed on delivering the best outcomes for our communities, both now and in the long term.
