Tewkesbury Borough’s high streets spring cleaned for reopening
In preparation for the reopening of the borough’s high streets on Monday, 12 April, Tewkesbury Borough Council showed its commitment to supporting the local economy by engaging environmental services contractor Ubico to give everything a good spring clean.
Ubico crews were out in force on Saturday in the town centres of Bishops Cleeve, Tewkesbury and Winchcombe, doing a magnificent job of sweeping paths, roads and side roads, and clearing the area of litter.
They received fantastic praise from members of the public passing by, all of whom commented on what a great job the team were doing.
Tewkesbury Borough Council’s Head of Community Services, Peter Tonge, said: “The Council is committed to providing all possible support for our great town centre businesses. At a time when they are finally able to reopen, we wanted to make the return to our high streets as pleasant an experience as possible for both retailers and shoppers, by ensuring they were clean and tidy. Ubico are to be commended on their excellent work, which was clearly very much appreciated by those who visited the town centres.”
