Tewkesbury Borough Council has today, (Friday, 21 March) announced a new, engaging and visually striking Visitor Information Point (VIP) will be placed within the soon-to-open Cotswolds Designer Outlet this summer.

Located in the guest services area, the VIP will aim to inspire visitors to extend their journey to the easily accessible town of Tewkesbury, where they can immerse themselves in its rich history, admire medieval architecture, explore bustling markets, and experience the vibrant local culture. The VIP will also serve as a gateway for tourists to discover the treasures of the town, its historic sites and unique experiences that make Tewkesbury a must-visit destination in the Cotswolds. The town is also an excellent base to explore the wider borough which offers a vibrant events calendar packed with a variety of entertainment all year round.

The council is pleased to announce that it has appointed Aruba Creative to design the VIP. Aruba Creative, a small design agency with extensive experience in both museums heritage and retail promotion, was chosen for their unique combination of expertise and their understanding of the space.

Tewkesbury town has received recent acclaim from visitors, as a hidden gem in the Cotswolds, with hundreds of listed buildings, the magnificent Norman Tewkesbury Abbey, and more than 200 shops and thriving eateries, most independently owned.

Cllr Richard Stanley, Leader – Tewkesbury Borough Council said: “Tewkesbury is a very special place and has much to offer visitors who are coming to experience the Cotswolds Designer Outlet. We’re incredibly fortunate to be part of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which draws in more than 23 million visits annually and we look forward to working with Aruba Creative, to ensure that all visitors have the information and opportunity to experience all that is on offer within the town and the surrounding borough.”

James Rickatson, Partner at Aruba Creative commented: “We’re thrilled to have been chosen for this unique project. Following our recent site visit with the council, we are now working together to deliver an inspiring visitor information point that drives interest in Tewkesbury and the surrounding area.”

The tourist information and heritage centre, located on Church Street, will continue to provide that personal touch with expert local knowledge and top tips for enjoying a visit to the town and the surrounding area.
