Residents are invited to don their finest Regency-inspired attire and enjoy an elegant evening of music, dancing, and community spirit at the Borough Mayor’s Grand Regency Ball, from 6pm to 10pm on Sunday, 6 December, at George Watson Hall, Tewkesbury.

Inspired by the timeless era of Jane Austen and Bridgerton, the charity ball promises to be a very special and entertaining experience, while raising funds for the Borough Mayor’s chosen charities – Let’s Talk Well and Gloucestershire Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs – which help make a positive difference across the borough.

Guests will have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the Regency era, with a special performance from dance society, the Georgettes of Oxford. There are also daytime dance workshops, designed to ensure everyone can take to the dance floor with confidence and flair in the evening.  The full programme for the day is available on the Mayor’s webpage.

Live music will be provided by Regency dance band, The Capability Consort, helping to bring the atmosphere of the period to life.

Councillor George Porter, Mayor of Tewkesbury Borough, said: “We’re excited to host an evening that captures the spirit of the Regency era while bringing our communities together in a modern-day celebration. Guests can look forward to a relaxed and entertaining night of dancing, conversation, and live music in the beautiful surroundings of George Watson Hall.

“Attendees will also be supporting local charities, helping to make the event as meaningful as it is enjoyable. We hope it will be an evening filled with good company, lasting memories, and plenty of smiles.”

Residents, honorary aldermen, civic guests and community representatives are all invited to be part of the celebration.

The Mayor of Tewkesbury Borough would also like to put out a call for raffle prizes from local businesses wishing to support the event with proceeds helping his chosen charities.  Anyone interested in donating a prize is asked to email democraticservices@tewkesbury.gov.uk.

Tickets are available online for £45 each, with proceeds supporting the Mayor’s charities.
