Bulky item collection service bookings

The council offers a bulky item collection service for residents in Tewkesbury Borough. This is a chargeable service for items that will not fit into your bin, such as three piece suites, washing machines, fridges and freezers, as well as many other household items.

You will need a credit or debit card to make use of this service. Without a payment, you will not be able to reserve a collection slot.

If you need to pay using a different method, you will need to visit the council offices to make payment. 

Costs

There is a charge of £26.50 for the first item, and £13.25 for each additional item. 

If you are in receipt of housing benefit or council tax support, please contact Customer Services on 01684 295010 to make your booking.   

We can collect up to six items per booking and multiple bookings can be made if required. 

What happens when I book a collection

As part of our efforts to cut down on landfill, we’ve partnered with Orchard Recycling, which aims to recycle and reuse collected items as much as possible. With this in mind, please try to protect items from the weather. 

Please make sure your items are out by 7am on the day of your collection. 

This service is for residents only, not commercial businesses.

Conditions of collection

  • Items must be owned by you, and you must have requested for them to be removed.  
  • Items must be from a domestic residential property, not a business.  
  • Items must be placed at the front of the property, visible from the road, easily accessible and not likely to cause injury or inconvenience – you must not block a public highway with your items.   
  • You are responsible for moving the items to the stated collection point. 
  • Our operatives are not permitted to enter premises or take payments. 
  • Only items listed on the application for bulky items collection will be removed.  

Refunds can only be made if cancellations are requested at least 48 working hours before the scheduled date of collection. This includes cancellations if you change your mind or if the items are taken without your consent by another individual or organisation ahead of the scheduled collection.
