Winchcombe and Sudeley
Making the plan: 24 January 2017
Following an Independent Examination and Referendum, Tewkesbury Borough Council resolved to bring the Winchcombe and Sudeley Neighbourhood Plan into legal force under Section 38A(4) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 at a meeting of Full Council on Tuesday 24 January 2017.
The Winchcombe and Sudeley Neighbourhood Plan now forms part of the statutory Development Plan for Tewkesbury Borough Council.
Referendum: 24 November 2016
At Referendum, on Thursday 24 November 2016, the Winchcombe and Sudeley Neighbourhood Development Plan secured the majority of those voting for Tewkesbury Borough Council to use the plan to help it decide planning applications in the Neighbourhood Area, with a 22.49% turnout and 87.02% voting yes.
Examination: 20 May 2016
Following the close of the six week consultation period on the 22nd January 2016 the Winchcombe and Sudeley Neighbourhood Development Plan was subject to independent examination in accordance with Regulation 17. Mr. Nigel McGurk was appointed as the independent examiner. The examination concluded on the 20 May 2016 with the submission of the Examiner’s Report

Between 4 December 2015 to 22 January 2016 the plan was consulted on, in accordance with Regulation 16, as a ‘plan proposal’.
Submission: 4 November 2015
Winchcombe Town Council and Sudeley Parish Meeting submitted a joint Neighbourhood Development Plan, in accordance with Regulation 15 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, to Tewkesbury Borough Council on the 4 November 2015.
Neighbourhood area designation: 3 July 2013
The parishes of Winchcombe and Sudeley applied to designate a joint neighbourhood area for the preparation of a neighbourhood development plan, which was validated on 29 April 2013. In accordance with the provisions of Regulation 5 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, as amended a consultation on the proposed neighbourhood area was undertaken, ending on 7 June 2013. The meeting of the Executive Committee on 3 July 2013 resolved ‘That the designation of Neighbourhood Plan areas covering the Parishes of Winchcombe and Sudeley be approved.’
