Referendum: 21 June 2018

A Referendum relating to the adoption of the Alderton Neighbourhood Plan was held on Thursday 21 June 2018. The question asked in the Referendum was:

“Do you want Tewkesbury Borough Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Alderton to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”

Examination: 16 March 2018

Following the close of the six week consultation period on the 30 October 2017 the plan was subject to Independent Examination. The independent neighbourhood plan examiner, Deborah McCann BSc MRICS MRTPI Dip Arch Con Dip LD published her final report on the 16 March 2018.

Regulation 18 decision statement

Following the examination of a neighbourhood plan the Council is required to consider each of the examiner’s recommendations and decide what action to take in response to them. The Council must also come to a formal view of whether the draft plan meets legal requirements including the Basic Conditions set out in legislation. Submission: 15 August 2017

The Alderton Neighbourhood Development Plan was submitted, in accordance with Regulation 15 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, to Tewkesbury Borough Council following formal approval by the Parish Council at its meeting on 15 August 2017.

Neighbourhood area designation: 8 January 2014

Alderton Parish Council applied to designate a neighbourhood area for the preparation of a neighbourhood development plan, which was validated on 28 October 2013. In accordance with the provisions of Regulation 5 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, as amended a consultation on the proposed neighbourhood area was undertaken, ending on 9 December 2013. The meeting of the Executive Committee on 8 January 2014 resolved ‘That the designation of neighbourhood plan areas covering Alderton Parish be approved.’
