How to contact us to claim a refund or notify us of a change in circumstances
If you would like to contact us about a change in your circumstances, or to claim a refund for overpaid Council Tax, please visit our Citizen Access Revenues Portal, where you can tell us that you:
- Have moved
- Have a change in your name (due to marriage, etc.)
- Have a change in your household.
You will need to notify us within 28 days of any change occurring.
You can request a council tax refund if:
- Your account is in credit
- You have moved out of the borough
- You have a council tax band reduction
- You have been granted a discount, exemption or council tax reduction
- You have overpaid.
You will need to provide your bank account details and, if the council tax payer has passed away, you will need to provide supporting information, such as grant of probate.
