In September 2022, Tewkesbury Borough Council received £1.4million from the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. In addition to this, the borough has been identified by DEFRA as an area eligible for the Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF) and awarded further capital funding that will be available until March 2025.

This page explains how to apply for the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF) Enhancing Heritage, Cultural, Historical Institutions and Energy Efficiency for Community Buildings grant, including the supporting criteria, application forms and helpful resources.

Over the next two years, we will be distributing funding across our borough, into projects with beneficial outcomes for the community and local businesses.

The REPF fund aims to improve productivity and strengthen the rural economy and rural communities.

Tewkesbury Borough Council Capital Grant Scheme – Enhancing Cultural, Historical and Heritage Institutions

The following Enhancing Cultural, Historical and Heritage Institutions grant scheme is Capital funding only, developed in compliance with the REPF guidance and local community and heritage needs, outlined in the Rural England Prosperity Fund prospectus.

This funding is split over a two year period for non-profit organisation in rural areas as identified in DEFRA’s Magic Map Application.

Year two funding April 2024 – March 2025: £100,000.00

The year two grants application window is now open. 

Enhancing Cultural, Historical and Heritage Institutions Grant Eligibility

Before applying for this Enhancing Cultural, Historical and Heritage Institutions capital grant, we recommend each applicant reviews the criteria to establish if your project is compatible with the grant parameters.

To check eligibility, we request all applicants refer to this Enhancing Cultural, Historical and Heritage Institutions capital grant guidance document.

Please note:

  • The status of an application is determined by a review panel, and at the Council’s discretion.
  • Only some locations in the borough will be eligible for funding.

Once you have read through the guidance and eligibility criteria, please complete and submit your Enhancing Cultural, Historical and Heritage Institutions capital grant application accompanied by the supporting documentation requested within the form.

Applications must be submitted by 9am on Friday, 24 May 2024.

Shortlisted Enhancing Cultural, Historical and Heritage Institutions grant applications will be reviewed by a grant panel.

Please note, any Enhancing Cultural, Historical and Heritage Institutions grant applications received after the deadline of 9am on Friday, 24 May 2024 will not be considered.

The following Energy Efficiency for Community Buildings grant scheme is Capital funding only, developed in compliance with the UKSPF and REPF guidance and local community needs, outlined in the UK Shared Prosperity Fund prospectus and the Rural England Prosperity Fund prospectus.

This funding is split over a two year period to benefit Energy Efficiency for Community Buildings.
