Over £300k funding available to boost borough’s cultural, historical, heritage and energy efficiency for community facilities.

Non-profit community organisations across Tewkesbury Borough are invited to apply for the latest funding from the UK Shared Prosperity and Rural England Prosperity Fund grant schemes. A total of £356,330 has been made available to support schemes across the borough.

Tewkesbury Borough Council will be distributing capital funding received through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and Rural England Prosperity Fund through two grant schemes, to enhance cultural, historical and heritage institutions and also to improve the energy efficiency of community buildings.

Applications for both grant schemes are now open and close at 9am on Friday 24 May 2024.

Tewkesbury Borough Council’s Lead Member for the Community, Councillor Cate Cody says: ‘’These two grant schemes are exciting opportunities for our local communities; with over £350,000 of grant funding available, we want to see as many non-profit groups and organisations benefitting as possible.  The funding has the potential to enhance culture and showcase the rich history and heritage within our borough as well as promoting community pride and energy efficiency.

Tewkesbury Borough Council Capital Grant Scheme – Enhancing Cultural, Historical and Heritage institutions.

The available funding for this scheme is £100,000. Funding is open to non-profit organisations in eligible rural areas of Tewkesbury Borough. Grant applications from groups will need to be between £2,500 and £24,999. This grant scheme is capital funding only.

Tewkesbury Borough Council Capital Grant Scheme – Energy Efficiency for community buildings.

The available funding for this scheme is £256,330. Funding is open to non-profit organisations in Tewkesbury Borough. Grant applications from groups will need to be between £2,500 and £24,999. This grant scheme is capital funding only.

Online information session

Today, (Monday, 18 March) at 6pm an online session with Gloucestershire Rural Community Council (GRCC) will be available for anyone interested in finding out more. The session will also be a chance to ask questions and take notes on tips for completing your application form.

The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025.

The Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.

The REPF fund is a top-up to the UKSPF fund which aims to improve productivity and strengthen the rural economy and rural communities.
