Tewkesbury Borough Council has a role to play to ensure that we manage this growth in the best possible way.

This includes planning for the building of new homes, rather than let this happen in an ad hoc way and supporting businesses so that they can flourish and continue to provide employment and prosperity. Hand-in-hand with development, we need to make sure that there is a matching provision of healthcare, education and community facilities.

Did you know?

According to the Office of National Statistics, Tewkesbury Borough has seen the most rapid economic growth of any area outside London, with a population increase of 10% since 2015 and 2.5% in 2020/21 alone.

The borough has the highest business growth in Gloucestershire, with 80% of the population in jobs and 75% of land allocated for employment within the Joint Core Strategy located within the borough.
