Funding and finance will be the topic of choice when Tewkesbury Borough Business Voice hosts its latest event on Thursday, 5 June.

The network, which provides a platform for public and private partners to share insights, challenges, and opportunities that underpin business growth, will lead the conversation, with guest speakers also on the bill.

David Goodall, Fund Manager at FW Capital, will talk about the South West Investment Fund and discuss opportunities for Tewkesbury Borough businesses looking to scale up.

Delegates will also hear from Nigel Dawson, co-owner and founder of Cafe au Chocolat, who has been supported by Tewkesbury Growth Hub and also secured a Rural England Prosperity Fund grant to boost his business.

Katie Power, Growth and Enterprise Manager at Tewkesbury Borough Council, said: “We want to use the Tewkesbury Borough Business Voice Network to drive economic growth in the borough, our events are one of the ways we can highlight the support on offer to local businesses.

“With a focus on funding the event will offer advice on where to access financial support as well as offering guests the chance to hear first-hand feedback from a business who has done just that.”

Councillor Richard Stanley, Leader of Tewkesbury Borough Council, will provide an update on local government reorganisation and what this might mean for businesses.

Councillor Stanley said: “Linking up with businesses is key to us driving growth in Tewkesbury.

“This event and indeed the network itself is one of the ways we want to build and develop relationships with our local businesses and keep a consistent conversation going so we can achieve growth together.”

All of the speakers will take part in a panel discussion and Q&A, with questions being taken from those attending.

The event will be the first in a series planned by the network over the next year. They are designed to support and promote the work of local businesses and encourage collaboration between the council and business community.

There will also be ample opportunity to network with like-minded business leaders and hear more about funding and support available in Tewkesbury Borough – one of the fastest-growing boroughs in the country.

Refreshments will be served at the event, which is free to attend and will take place at Hatherley Manor Hotel, on Thursday, 5 June, from 7.30 – 9.30am.
