By-election for Innsworth Ward, Tewkesbury Borough
A by-election for Innsworth Ward in Tewkesbury Borough, will take place on Thursday, 1 May 2025, the same day as Gloucestershire County Council elections. Poll cards have been sent out to all registered voters.
Residents of Innsworth Ward who are not registered at their current address are asked to make sure they are registered before the deadline of Friday, 11 April 2025.
If you do not receive a poll card but think that you are already registered, please call 01684 272025 to check.
If you need to register, the quickest way to apply is online at gov.uk/register-to-vote. Alternatively, call the Elections Team on 01684 272025.
Alistair Cunningham, Chief Executive and Returning Officer for Tewkesbury Borough Council, said: “This election is an important opportunity for residents of Innsworth Ward to have a say on who makes decisions about issues that directly affect day-to-day life in their ward. Please make sure that you are registered to vote, especially if you have just turned 18 or recently moved house. If in doubt, please contact us.”
The deadline to apply for a postal vote, or to amend or cancel existing postal or proxy vote arrangements, is 5pm, Monday, 14 April.
The deadline to apply to vote by proxy must be received by 5pm, on Wednesday, 23 April 2025.
Residents voting at a polling station will need to show photo ID. A list of accepted forms of photo ID is available on the council’s website tewkesbury.gov.uk/current-and-future-elections. Voters without an accepted form of photo ID can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate online or by completing a paper form, which can be requested either by calling 01684 272025 or by emailing elections@tewkesbury.gov.uk. The deadline to apply for a certificate for the by-election is 5pm on Wednesday, 23 April.
