Tewkesbury Borough Council has today (Tuesday, 24 March 2026) confirmed the amended waste and recycling schedule for bank holidays, Easter, Christmas and New Year – is now available online.

Waste and recycling scheduled for Friday, 3 April (Good Friday) will be collected as usual. For Monday, 6 April (Easter Monday) and throughout the week collections will be a day later than usual.

For May and August bank holidays waste and recycling will be collected one day later than usual.

However, this Christmas and New Year, the revised waste and recycling collections schedule means that residents’ waste and recycling will be collected earlier than normal, and this has been clearly highlighted on the calendar.

Cllr Murray Stewart, Lead Member for Environmental Services said: “Our waste and recycling collection schedules are now available on our website. We want to remind residents that, as in previous years, most collections will take place one day later following the Easter, May, and August bank holidays.

“However, over Christmas and New Year, collections will take place earlier than normal. This is a change to the usual pattern of moving collections back by a day which is why we are keen to share the information now. Making the Christmas and New Year collections earlier will help our waste partner, Ubico, keep services running smoothly and get everything back on track quickly, so we can return to standard collection days as soon as possible.”

Residents can check their revised waste and recycling collections for bank holidays on our website at tewkesbury.gov.uk/waste-and-recycling.

Anyone who is subscribed to the garden waste collection should also note that last collection will be on Thursday, 24 December and the service will resume again on Monday, 11 January 2027.
